Services for students at distance courses

If you have been admitted to a distance learning course at the School of Economics and Management and for whatever reason cannot visit our library, you can still borrow from us and use our library services.

Library Card

As of autumn 2016 the LU card is valid as a library card at the Lund University Libraries. If you already have a library card, you can continue using it.

  • If you don't have a library card, you need to register a new library account in our Library Catalogue LUBcat.
  • Then send an email to: State your name, birth date and the course you are studying (state the course code).
  • If you have a LU card, we will connect your library account to that. If you don't have a LU card, we will send you a library card by mail.

Permission to borrow material from the libraries at Lund University is subject to our common terms and conditions for loans (PDF).

If you do not have the possibility to visit the library, we can send books to you within Europe (applies only to distance course students). You can find our books in the library catalogue LUBcat. When you have found the book that you want to borrow, send an e-mail to the library stating information on author, title and edition.

The borrowing time is at least four weeks. Course books, journals and reference books are not included in the service.

Please note that you will have to pay for the postage yourself when you return the book. You are responsible for making sure that the book is returned on time and in good condition.

When you have borrowed books from our library, you can check your loans by logging into the library catalogue LUBcat.

Electronic Resources

In LUBsearch, you find articles and e-books. Log in with your Student account to access the full texts.

Our subject-specific databases are listed in Databases A–Z. Access these resources with your Student account.
