Sustainability impact in collaboration and outreach activities

One of the focus areas of the Institute for sustainability impact

Sustainability is an area where universities can play a big role and where we need to focus our efforts. For that purpose, LUSEM has created the Lund Institute for Sustainability Impact with associate professor Susanne Arvidsson as director.

For more than a year now, the main focus of human attention has, for very good reasons, been on Covid-19. As we begin to be able to focus also on other challenges, sustainability looms as the biggest one and also an area where universities can play a big role and where we need to focus our efforts. For that purpose, LUSEM has created Lund Institute for Sustainability Impact, so-called LISI, with associate professor Susanne Arvidsson as director. This institute will develop new research and education efforts relating to sustainability and also involve and coordinate ongoing efforts on sustainability already initiated here at LUSEM.

For real sustainable impact, we need to continue to build strong relationships with stakeholders in policy, business society, civil society, NGOs in the community. Outreach activities and collaborations are vital for knowledge sharing, co-creation and capacity building – not the least in relation to sustainability transformations. LISI will be an important facilitator and platform in this area.
